Before
she was old enough to walk, Jessica and her family
moved to Biloxi, Mississippi. A series of moves
followed, before the family settled in southern
California. Before she was just five years old,
Jessica had already decided that she wanted to be
an actress. Finally, at age 12 she took her first
acting class and within nine months she'd signed
with an agent. Jessica made her feature film debut
in 1993 in Hollywood Pictures comedy "Camp Nowhere".
But she didn't get the gig off the bat. She was
only hired for two weeks, but a principal role had
to stop working on the film, and Jessica's hair,
that's right, her hair, matched the hair of the
girl who had the part.
Roles
in n "Flipper", "The Secret World of Alec Mack",
"Brooklyn South", and "Beverly Hills 90210" followed,
building her resume, but not launching her to the
forefront yet. It was a pair of roles in 1999 that
really put her to the top of the field - Never Been
Kissed (with Drew Barrymore) and Idle Hands (with
Seth Green) put Jessica in front of national audiences
and drew her a great deal of attention. She landed
a role in the critically acclaimed and heavily anticipated
Dark Angel, directed by James Cameron (director
of Titanic). |
