Monica
Belluci was born and grew up in Italy. When she
graduated high school she began law school and started
modelling on the side to help her pay for her expensive
program. Along the way she decided the real money
was in modeling and became a model full time much
to the dismay of her parents. In 1988 she travelled
to Milan and called it her home. She found tons
of modelling work and was constantly doing shows
in Paris and New York. Unlike many other super models
she found the transition to acting fairly simple
to move into. She took many acting classes and took
a part in Bram Stokers' Dracula. But she continued
to act in Europe and believed that most American
Films lacked the depth and sophistication of their
European counterparts.
Recently
she has been cast in the two matrix sequels and
has wowed audiences with her performance. I guess
the matrix wasn't a shallow film experience and
has allowed her to develop her character persephone.
Although she has won many awards and been on many
runways her one dream still remains unfulfilled.
She has always wanted to star in a film with Robert
Deniro. Who knows? Maybe one day her desire will
be fullfilled and the two will unite on the big
screen. She has been in over 20 movies to date but
most have been either Italian or French. |
