Trivia: |
Did
you know that she is named after actress
Piper Laurie?
|
|
This
kid was destined to be an actress from the start,
as her parents named her Piper after actress Piper
Laurie. Piper attended Toms River High School North
where her father was an english teacher. A friend
from Piper's class described her as "a sweetheart
who was very kind and caring." After high school
ended, Piper headed off to Ohio University, where
she studied acting. She graduated in 1998 with a
BFA in acting. She took off to New York, where she
was going to try and make it as an actress. Her
career was slow to start, so Piper, had to start
working at a bar to make ends meet. Meanwhile, she
was working and studying at the LaMama Theatre right
in the city. She grabbed a couple of roles in low-budget
films, but nothing noteworth. Low budget films are
nothing like the real thing.
Her first
big break came with the film Whiteboys - a film
in which Piper played the girlfriend of a struglling
rapper. The role didn't bring her very much critical
or commercial success, but it gave her the experience
to nail an audition for Coyote Ugly. Piper took
a crash course of voice, guitar, piano, dance, and
bartending lessons before hopping on the movie-set
bar. The summer of 2000 was a big one for Piper
Perabo. Her roles in Coyottee Ugly and The Adventures
of Rocky and Bullwinkle have given her a firm grasp
of Hollywood. |
